I didn't think so -- I've been designing mostly in worsted weight, with some patterns for chunky and super bulky yarn as well.
But then I realized that one of my most popular worsted-weight patterns is crocheted at a gauge of 14 dc = 4 in./10 cm, which just happens to be a DK gauge, too.
I did further research on overlapping gauges and here's what I discovered:
DK/light worsted and worsted/Aran gauge ranges overlap quite a bit, with 12, 13 and 14 sts = 4 in./10 cm in common.
Sport and DK overlap at 16 and 17 sts = 4 in.
Worsted/Aran and Chunky/Bulky overlap at 11 sts = 4 in.
And Chunky/Bulky and Super Bulky overlap at 8 and 9 sts = 4 in.
