Help, my hat's too short/too long!

If you want to make a beanie that covers your ears, measure from the bottom of one ear up over the top of your head and down to the bottom of the other ear.

Divide this number by 2.  On the mannequin, the tape at the bottom of his right ear measures 15 in., so his hat depth would be 7 1/2 in.

Standard beanie length is about 8 in./20 cm, but there's plenty of variation.  You may need to add/subtract an inch or so.
