I love yarn mixes -- even though sometimes getting the recommended gauge is tricky.
This hat combines Paton's Colorwul yarn, a mystery mohair blend yarn, and a soft, polyester metallic yarn. All three are self-striping, and the resulting fabric is tweedy, thick, lush and sparkly.
I used my Perfect Guy 2.0 pattern, adding 24k gold-plated star buttons for a more feminine look.
Even when you get the stitch gauge with a yarn mix, the round/row gauge is often off. That was the case with this hat, but I simply added another round to the band to get the length I wanted.
