Back when I lived in New England and knitted sweaters, this was a yarn I wanted to buy: Purple wool tweed with colorful flecks.
At the time, it seemed too expensive for a whole sweater.
But recently in a thrift store, I found a sweater to take home, unravel into skeins, and give a hot bath.
The sweater was made in Ireland of Irish yarn: my purple tweed. It was just as gorgeous as I remembered.
