I'm participating in the Indie Designers Gift-a-Long on Ravelry this year.  The fun started last night and continues through Dec. 31.

The link above is for the Pinterest board of all the hat (and headband, etc.) patterns on sale through Nov. 27.  The big photo is my bundle cover that shows some of my 20 patterns that are on sale.  The sale prices are 25 percent off, and each designer could offer up to 20 patterns for the sale price.

If you have a chance, check out the Pinterest hats board.  So many beauties . . . .

'I Want a Chunky Guy!'

One of the pattern testers on Ravelry noted that she could use a chunky guy in her life.

This was in reference to my beanie pattern for men that uses chunky-weight yarn.

Sometimes you have to think hard and/or do some research to get names for your patterns.  Other times, the perfect name arrives unexpectedly in a funny comment.

Voila!  The Chunky Guy beanie pattern.

Scrap Hat #2

Here's the second hat I made from my small mountain of leftover yarn.

This one's mostly in blues and grays, with a shot of green from a color-changing wool-blend.

I'm auditioning the lime buttons; they're not sewn on yet.

I used a 7 mm hook, which was large for many of the yarns, which ranged from DK to chunky weight.  I like the airiness and drape of the fabric that resulted from the big hook.
