I was so pleased with the look of the joined rounds on this Slightly Slouchy beanie that I made it into a design detail.

This beanie was made from a pack of Vanna's Palettes -- 8 mini-skeins of worsted-weight yarn with 17 yd. in each color.
With a 5 mm hook, I worked a simple, spiral single-crochet hat using each color until it ran out. I debated saving one skein to make a little pom-pom. Next time, perhaps. The colorway is Iconic. I'm a huge fan of self-patterning yarns. If there's a new one out there, I want to try it!
Hot off my hook is this beanie in Vanna's Tapestry by Lion Brand. The 100 percent acrylic yarn looks and feels great, and it's designed to work up in striking patterns that evoke tribal rugs and textiles. |
