He's wearing a hat crocheted in variegated sock yarn, a design that I haven't published yet. It's worked at a slightly looser gauge than normal for sock/fingering yarn -- 20 sts = 4 in./10 cm. Not only does this create a fabric with more drape, but it also means that the hat is quicker to make.
So far, he only appears on my Etsy pages and on my care labels for men's hats. He probably deserves a pattern of his own . . . .
