I crocheted this hat in purple chenille recently.
I always thought that chenille yarn had a tendency to "worm," where loops of yarn work their way out of the fabric and twist themselves into, well, dangling worms.
But I just read on Ravelry that worming usually occurs with chenille yarn that's knit, not crocheted or woven.
This is good news. (. . . For crocheters and weavers.)
I'm going to be on the lookout for chenille yarn to crochet more vintage-looking, velvety beauties.
