Who needs crumpled newspaper when you can have lovely merino, self-striping worsteds, organic cotton and all their lovely friends?
As I pack for my move from Texas to Rhode Island in a couple of weeks, I'm finding that yarn does a very nice job of filling empty spaces in boxes of books.

My Circus Mouse Clown turned out so stinkin' cute! The pattern --http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/circus-mouse-clown -- is by my crochet friend and talented designer Carrey Rey, known as MixedKreations on Ravelry. I don't make many amigurumi -- this is actually only my second one -- but as I was crocheting this guy, I could really see the appeal of amiguruming. The head is a bit bigger than the pattern because I wanted to use a chenille yarn in my stash, and it was chunky, not worsted. The hat is a bit smaller because I accidentally picked up the wrong hook. Luckily, my little guy didn't seem to suffer at all from my Wrong Yarn/Wrong Hook choices. |
