The idea was that you could make it to show your love for your favorite team, your school, or your country. Or maybe just your favorite colors.
But then I had second thoughts.
Was it too corny?
So I decided to play it safe. I called it "The Three-Stripe Slouchy & Beanie."
However, the pattern testers made me re-think my decision. One made a slouchy hat in Steelers' colors -- black with white and yellow stripes -- for her daughter. Another tester made a red hat with black and white stripes and a black/white pom-pom for Team Canada.
One made a hat in girly colors; another, in subtle shades.
One made hats for charity; another, for kids in her neighborhood.
It dawned on me that this hat was supposed to be called "Show Your Love."
Perhaps ANY pattern could be called "Show Your Love." We show our love for color, for yarn, for people we know, for people we don't know, for good causes, for good design. And we show our love for the art and craft of crochet itself.
